Dedham

Dedham is a town with tons of amenities and great transportation options.  Just 20 minutes to downtown Boston and right on the Route 128 belt.  Commuter rail, desirable school districts, great shopping and dining, and a quaint town center that dates back to the pilgrims.

Estate properties, comfortable and modest single family homes and a fair mix of condominiums round out the housing options.  The Precinct one has a variety of early settler estates just a few minutes away from Legacy Place and the Route 1 shopping corridor.

Schools

A solid education starts at the elementary level, and Oakdale is a great example of what Dedham has to offer young students.   Oakdale, Greenlodge, and Riverdale districts divide the town along varying lines to maintain a successful student to teacher ratio.  Many of the schools have had renovations.  For more information including scores take a look at  www.greatschools.org or www.education.com.

Parks and Recreation

Barnes Memorial Park is located right on East Street. A beautifully maintained baseball diamond dominates this park but at its edge are plenty of swings and other playground equipment.  There are also several other neighborhood parks and conservation land scattered throughout the town.

Commute

The area is right on the 128 belt with quick access to 95 north and south, and Route 1 can bring you out to many of the south western neighborhoods.  There are also train stations for the commuter rail that can get passengers into downtown Boston in as little as 20 minutes.

Dining and Shopping

Shopping in Dedham is amazing!  The Route 1 corridor through the area starts at the quaint Dedham Center with local shops and continues on to Legacy Place.  Legacy offers an open air shopping experience with major retailers.  You will also find big box stores like Best Buy, BJs, and Bed Bath & Beyond within a 1/4 mile of Legacy Place.  The newest addition to the area is the Tesla dealership for those looking to ride in the latest in technology.  There are also some great neighborhood restaurants like Brickhouse that offers a home cooked Italian experience.

Entertainment

Legacy Place is not only a shoppers heaven, but also a great place to kick back and enjoy some time with friends.  King’s Bowling is a great place to roll big balls while snacking on appetizers and enjoying a cocktail.  Of course the complex is also host to a state of the art movie theater that offers Lux seating with IMAX and THX thrills.   If you’d like to take in a little mini golf, there is also McGolf complete with driving range.
